Pulmonary Medicine and Respiratory Care addresses a broad spectrum of conditions that affect the way we breathe.
Our lung specialists, including pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, and
respiratory therapists, provide comprehensive care to patients suffering
from a broad spectrum of illnesses including pneumonia, bronchitis, ARDS,
H1N1, asthma (restrictive and obstructive) and neuromuscular disorders
as well as provide support for patients recovering from surgery, trauma,
cardiac/respiratory arrest and metabolic disorders.
The Pulmonary Functions Laboratory provides diagnostic screening and state-of-the-art testing that assists
our medical staff in the diagnosis of lung conditions such as pulmonary
fibrosis, emphysema, asthma, and chronic bronchitis. The specialty tests

The Pulmonary Functions Laboratory provides comprehensive diagnostic services
in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Located on the second floor
at Good Samaritan Hospital, the Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) laboratory
is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information,

The Respiratory Care Department at Good Samaritan Hospital assists in improving pulmonary function and
quality of life for many people. Respiratory care is provided 24-hours
a day, seven days a week, to patients ranging in age from newborn to seniors.
Every member of the respiratory care team holds national certification/registration
and is licensed by the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
and is BLS, and ACLS or NRP certified depending on their area of care,
either adults or neonatal.

At Good Samaritan Hospital, some of the most advanced treatments are used
to manage conditions, alleviate symptoms and, in some cases, cure patients.
We also accept referrals to our Better Breathers Program for outpatients
