Radiation Oncology

Many Good Samaritan patients are benefiting from compassionate care at the hospital's Radiation Oncology Department, where an outstanding radiation oncologist and his team of technologists and other professionals are providing safe and effective radiation treatments to eradicate cancers of the brain, gastrointestinal system, lung, breast, prostate, bladder, soft tissue and skin.

The Radiation Oncology department is equipped with a state-of-the-art computer system to assist the physician in developing individualized treatment plans. The department also offers a brachytherapy program, a unique therapy that entails implantation of radioactive seeds in patients. This treatment allows for delivery of high doses of radiation to the tumor with maximum sparing of surrounding normal tissues, ie High-Dose Rate (HDR) treatment for prostate cancer.
