WHAT IS THE GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL (GSH) GOLD MEDICAL ACCESS CARD?
The Good Sam Gold Medical Access Card is a program for business people,
residents, and valued guests in downtown Los Angeles. By signing up as
a GSH Gold Medical Access Card member, you will have access to Good Samaritan
Hospital’s world class services delivered by its team of health
care professionals and service specialists assigned to you.
HOW CAN I ACCESS MY BENEFITS AS A GSH GOLD MEDICAL ACCESS CARDHOLDER?
To access any of your benefits, make sure you have your card with you
at all times. Simply present your Good Sam Gold Medical Access Card at
the time of registration or let our service representatives know that
you are a Good Sam Gold Medical Access Cardholder when calling to schedule
a procedure. To better assist you and to avoid delays, all you need to
do is call our health care service specialist at least two business days
before your scheduled visit.
WHAT IS A GSH PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?
A GSH Primary Care Physician is a board certified or eligible medical
professional licensed to practice medicine as an Internist or Family Practitioner
who is credentialed to work at Good Samaritan Hospital.
IS IT NECESSARY TO HAVE A GSH PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN TO JOIN THE PROGRAM?
Yes. All Good Sam Gold Medical Access Cardholders are required to have
a Good Sam Primary Care Physician.
IF I ALREADY HAVE AN EXISTING GSH PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN, CAN I USE THE
Yes. You may elect to choose your existing GSH primary care physician.
WHO CHOOSES MY GSH PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?
You choose your own Good Sam Primary Care Physician upon enrollment in
the Good Samaritan Hospital Gold Medical Access Card Program.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT PHYSICIAN TO CHOOSE?
Good Samaritan Hospital will provide you with a list of physicians (internal
medicine and family practice) and their profiles.
WHAT IS A GSH SERVICE SPECIALIST?
A Good Sam Service Specialist is a patient care representative who is
assigned to facilitate the needs of GSH Gold Medical Access Cardholders.
WHEN ARE THE GSH SERVICE SPECIALISTS AVAILABLE?
The Good Sam Service Specialists are available during normal business
hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.), Monday to Friday (except holidays)
to facilitate your health care needs. However, if you are hospitalized,
the GSH service specialists are available to assist you 24 hours a day
and 7 days a week.
HOW DO I BECOME A PRE-REGISTERED PATIENT?
Upon application, you will be asked to complete an application form that
has all the information necessary to create your medical record file at
Good Samaritan Hospital.
WILL MY INFORMATION BE SECURE?
Yes. We understand that your medical information is personal. We are committed
to protecting your privacy.
AS A GOOD SAM GOLD MEDICAL ACCESS CARDHOLDER, WILL I GET BETTER QUALITY OF CARE?
Good Samaritan Hospital prides itself on the quality of care it provides
to all patients regardless of race, sex, religion, or financial status.
Every patient in the hospital is given the best possible care that he
or she requires.
IF I GO TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICE DEPARTMENT, WILL I BE TREATED FIRST?
No. You will go through the same triage process just as the other patients.
However, since you are already pre-registered in our system, you will
save the time and the hassle of completing forms upon your arrival at
our Emergency Services Department. Priority of treatment will always be
given to patients based upon the severity of their medical condition.
