Good Samaritan Hospital Named Among HealthGrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2007
Recognition based on outstanding clinical performance over seven-year period; Hospital also recognized as Distinguished Hospital 5 years in a row
Los Angeles (April 13, 2007) – Good Samaritan Hospital is named as one of America's 50 Best Hospitals in 2007 by HealthGrades, the nation's leading independent healthcare ratings company.

HealthGrades has analyzed patient outcome data for virtually every hospital in the country across 28 different hospital procedures and diagnoses. HealthGrades' risk-adjustment methodology considers important differences in patient demographics and medical conditions that could increase the patient's risk of mortality or complications. The study identifying America's 50 Best Hospitals is based on a risk-adjusted assessment of approximately 90 million Medicare discharge records from 1999 through 2005.
America's 50 Best Hospitals, including Good Samaritan Hospital have consistently achieved better survival rates and lower complication rates. As a whole, in hospitals that received the America's 50 Best Hospital distinction, patients are 28 percent more likely to survive and five percent less likely to have a major complication according to HealthGrades.
