The Campaign for Cardiology needs you…and you may need the campaign
for cardiology.
According to the Centers for Disease control and Prevention (CDC), about
half of all Americans (49%) have at least one of three main risk factors
for heart disease (high blood pressure, high LDL cholesterol or smoking).
- Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women
- Someone in the United States has a heart attack every 34 seconds
The CDC also reports that atrial fibrillation – a condition treated
in the Good Samaritan Hospital’s EP Lab – is the most common
type of arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm).
Good Samaritan Hospital has a tradition of caring and an ongoing commitment
to provide unparalleled clinical care to patients. With more than 25 years
of distinguished service, the Heart & Vascular Center, under the direction
of its Director, Dr. David S. Cannom, has gained a worldwide reputation
not only for outstanding care but for innovative research and the development
of breakthrough procedures.
The new Campaign for Cardiology – beginning in 2014 – will
raise $7 million for the construction and equipment of two new electrophysiology
laboratories (EP Labs).
Great physicians and researchers – and their patients – require
and deserve the best equipment possible.
Your gift to the Campaign for Cardiology is an investment in your own health
as well as a gift of life for others.
